This is an armored suit from Maschinen Krieger, also known as Ma.K, formerly known as SF3D
I received this model many years ago with a couple other Ma.K stuff in an "extra parts" bag. This was the only one that was all there and it was partially assembled already. So, back then, I rebuilt it, added some new bits, like a modified hand and the wires and cables. I also added some epoxy putty to the elbow and leg joints to simulate the dust covers. It didn't have a pilot figure, so I sculpted my own from chavant clay and my friend cast it for me in resin.
Then... it got put on the shelf..
Fast forward to 2021 and it's complete! My first model completed this year. I had planned to make a little vignette with a couple other figures, one of which being sculpted mostly from scratch, but I wasn't happy with the way the sculpt turned out so I decided to ditch the vignette out of frustration, but I think it looks good on its own.
As far as techniques, I added some weld beads to the back armor, and used the 'hairspray technique' for the paint chipping. Gaia Red Oxide primer and Mission Models paint was used, with Vallejo for the face and other details, along with enamel washes, pigments and other things. I have a painting video to edit for my youtube channel, which i'll upload soon. The base is simple beach sand and backyard dirt, painted with some acrylic paint and a couple tufts of grass for contrast.
That's pretty much it. It was a fun, fairly quick project, (once I ditched the other figures) and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
